A Night of Pure Bliss in Niigata♡ Hotel Global View & Seafood Paradise at Goro
I took a spontaneous overnight trip to Niigata, and it turned out to be one of the most relaxing and delicious nights ever!
I stayed at the super convenient Hotel Global View Niigata, just steps from the station, and had dinner at Shungyo Shusai Goro Bandai-ten—a spot I'd been curious about forever.
With a comfy room, soothing bath, and unforgettable izakaya experience… I honestly didn’t want to leave
Just Steps from Niigata Station! A Healing Stay at Hotel Global View
I checked into Hotel Global View Niigata, which is literally right next to Niigata Station—perfect even on rainy days!
The lobby has a simple, calming vibe, and yes—there’s a large public bath and sauna!
After my soak, I chilled out in one of the free massage chairs. Total reset mode…
The room was clean and fully equipped with a TV, fridge, and electric kettle.
It had that business-hotel feel, but as a solo female traveler, I felt completely safe and comfortable♪
Seafood × Sake Paradise! Dinner at Goro Bandai-ten
For dinner, I headed to Goro Bandai-ten, a must-visit for Niigata foodies!
The exterior has a cozy, traditional charm—and the moment I walked in, I knew I'd picked a winner
Inside, warm wood tones create a relaxed vibe with a mix of counter seating and sunken kotatsu-style tables.
Perfect for solo diners or small groups alike♪
First Up: Assorted Sashimi—Local Fish Galore
When in Niigata, seafood is a must!
I ordered the day’s recommended sashimi platter, loaded with fresh local fish, and paired it with a chilled glass of sake. Pure bliss.
Sake Galore! The Tasting Set Was a Game-Changer
Goro is also known for its sake selection.
I went for the tasting set, which let me sample a few of Niigata’s best labels. I was in sake heaven!
My personal favorite? The chilled sake served in a bamboo cup—clean, crisp, and oh-so-elegant. A true treat for grown-ups.
And the Grand Finale… Goro’s Famous "Daigoro Meshi"!
I almost skipped the rice, but the reviews convinced me to try Daigoro Meshi, their signature dish.
And wow—it was absolutely delicious!!
The broth-soaked rice was bursting with umami… a perfect, heartwarming way to end the night
Final Thoughts: Sleep, Feast, and Sake—My Ideal Niigata Night♡
From the relaxing soak at Hotel Global View to the amazing seafood and sake at Goro, I was reminded once again: Travel is everything.
If I ever visit Niigata again, I’m definitely doing this exact combo.
Next time… maybe I’ll start the day with sushi too
